Integration of PT & Fitness Jeff Booher PT

Are you tired of declining payments for your hard work to provide the care your patients need? Are you looking for opportunities to expand your practice where you patients pay you cash?

Then this episode is just what the doctor didn’t order!

There is a huge need for a comprehensive wellness facility for people who have medical and functional limitations. The demand for a comprehensive physical therapy/wellness solution is growing throughout the world.

As baby boomers age they are searching for health professionals who understand their desire for an active lifestyle. There are millions of older adults looking for facilities where they can have one-on-coaching and group exercises geared towards their specific needs. They refused to accept pain and diminished quality of life as a natural consequence of growing older.

They are willing to invest money with trusted experts who have the knowledge and facility to reach their wellness goals. This population is more that willing to pay out of pocket for fitness.

It is a no-brainer as far as I’m concerned to offer a one-stop shop for rehab and fitness. I ran a successful physical therapy/medical fitness center for over 15 years. I found it to be a win-win for my patients and for my bottom line.

The opportunity is there but it is up to you to seize it

and turn it into a profitable cash business.

My guest today, Jeff Booher a physical therapist, did just that. Five years ago Jeff integrated injury prevention, injury treatment and fitness enhancement programs into his private practice, Peak Physical Therapy . Listen to Jeff as he explains how he partnered with a franchise fitness center to expand into pilates, fitness coaching, group classes and golf specialization.

Dr. Booher will also describe the process he went through as an inventor to produce and market his first fitness product, Peax Power Shorts.

Peax Power Shorts

In this episode will will cover:
  • How Jeff followed his father’s footsteps and turned that path into an innovative private practice
  • How to transition patients into a health and wellness program
  • The integration of injury prevention, injury treatment and fitness enhancement into your practice
  • Utilizing pilates and yoga as a premium fitness alternative for your graduating patients
  • Jeff’s advice for any therapist who has an idea to bring to market
I appreciate Jeff coming onto the show to share how he developed an integrated physical therapy and fitness center. In the entrepreneurial spirit, he built a bridge into the fitness/wellness market and has taken advantage of the growing consumer demand for medical fitness.

By tapping into cash services like pilates, golf and fitness products he has positioned his clinic to take advantage of direct access and growing fitness market among active baby boomers. I encourage you too to expand your practice scope beyond traditional doctor-referrals and offer cash services directly to your patients.

Announcements

I have a couple of exciting announcements that I want to make you all aware of. On Wednesday December 9th I’m going to be a guest on Aaron LeBauer’s Cash PT Lunch Hour Webinar at 1pm Eastern Standard Time. Aaron’s is a leader in the cash therapy practice movement and is very generous with his resources and knowledge. I’d love for you to join in and interact with us.  You’ll find more about the webinar on my blog PaulPotterPT.com or at Aaron’s website lebauerconsulting.com or click on this link Cash PT Lunch Hour.

My second announcement is that I’m launching a pilot course for therapists interested in starting their own private practice in January 2016.

The course promises to help students build a solid business foundation that will take students from a practice idea to seeing their first patient. I’m limiting the class to 15 students because I will provide one-on-one coaching to help students do whatever it takes to launch their own practice pilot clinic. The deadline for signing up for the pilot course is midnight December 28th.

If you’re interested please email me at heypaul@paulpotterpt.com and type Pilot Signup in the subject line. I’ll arrange phone call so I can answer your questions about the pilot course.

The last announcement is I want to make my listeners aware of an upcoming change to the title of the Functional Freedom podcast. The focus of my podcast and blog has evolved into helping therapists launch and grow their own private practices. The new name and brand will better reflect the focus and direction of the podcast. I will be adding new podcast features in 2016 that will help you gain the personal and professional freedom to have a successful and meaningful practice. I’ll share more about the upcoming changes in future podcast episodes.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for listening to my podcast show after show. The number of downloads and subscribers is slowly growing. I had the opportunity to speak with a few of you during my research for the cash practice pilot course. Getting to meet you and hear about your dreams and steps you’ve taken to fulfill your calling as a therapy entrepreneur has been the greatest pleasure of doing the podcast and blog.

You all are amazing people and you are doing some pretty amazing things. Keep it up. I hope to inspire, encourage and provide you quality information so that you can continue to make a difference in your part of the universe.
